Kitchen Cabinet Organization Helps with Small Storage Spaces .. Who knew!?

Organization helps you get the most out of your space.  Such an easy concept, so why did it take me so long to figure it out?  I guess that’s just the story of my life … a day late and a dollar short, I should just be happy that I FINALLY caught on!  If you’ve been following my site it should be pretty obvious that I was in SERIOUS need of getting organized!  It’s happening though, I’m taking things slow so I don’t get burnt out and eventually I’ll get it all done.

This week I tackled the food cabinet in my kitchen.  My kitchen is VERY small, and this is where most of our food is stored (except for another cabinet which holds the cereal).  As you can see from my before pictures, things were just kind of crammed in there.  Everything fit, but the space was surely NOT optimized.  I picked up some shelf risers and they seemed to do the trick, I’ve got more space and things are easier to find.  My next purchase will likely be a spice rack, which will free up even more space in the cabinet.  But that will have to wait for another time!

Great stuff! In a pinch I have used shoe boxes turned on their sides as shelf risers…as long as the very lightweight items are on top!

Great Tackle. Your cabinets look great. I’m amazed at how big your cabinet is. The cabinet I have over my stove is tiny.

I bought that same shelf riser for my cups and glasses cabinet. They are GREAT for sharing the space … short cups on the bottom, tall ones on the top.

Wow! I love what you’ve done! Sadly, my pantry is the worst unorganized spot in the house. I have NO idea what to do with my spices! UGH!

In the kitchen, I’m lucky if I can just keep all the spices in the spice cabinet. But I’ve had better results from using baskets to organize piles of things in bathrooms.
