You mean you’re NOT supposed to leave your Christmas lights up until March?

Back in early January I went outside and had every intention of taking the Christmas lights down. Once I got out there though, I took a closer look and found that the lights were iced over and stuck to the shrub AND they were buried under a foot of snow. Since I don’t like snow or ice and I didn’t want to be taking down the lights in sub-zero temperatures anyways, I decided to hold off until the weather was warmer or until the lights were at the very least NOT buried under a foot of snow.
One thing led to another (or I procrastinated, whatever.) and suddenly it’s the last week in March and I realized that my Christmas lights were STILL up! So this weekend I took care of it. It took me all of five minutes and I’m glad to have the lights down and packed away for next year. I feel like I should mention that all other Christmas themed decor has been put away for months, and I have NOT been turning the lights on .. give me a little credit .. I’m not THAT person LOL!

Don’t worry, our Christmas lights on our house have been up since last year, luckily we live in the country so not many ppl notice.
I had to come check out your spot after your comment on my blog…I love the name of your blog and after looking around and seeing you like The Real Housewives of NYC (aren’t they ridiculous) too I now know your going to be a good read.

There’s nothing I like better than ‘playing’ in the garden, I’ll take any excuse. Glad to hear that you’re not ‘that’ person down the road from me who still has their Christmas lights on! Every time we drive past my children ask when Christmas is…….all terribly confusing.
Cheers

Oh… when I saw the heading of the post I was praying you hadn’t taken them down yet. Just one more day and then you could have won the “Christmas Lights Up until April” contest… lol
Our last Christmas thing (inside the house) was put away just 3 weeks ago…

It’s okay. It was only a couple weeks ago that I took down the last of the Christmas decorations. My MIL leaves some of hers up all year round!

Excellent tackle! Hey, you shouldn’t be expected to remove the lights when they’re frozen to the bush!

That’s just too funny! Nice post! One year, my folks still had theirs up in the summer. This was after I was grown, married, and moved out. We sneaked over there while they were out and turned them on to greet them when they retureturned. They got a chuckle out of that.

Too funny! I probably would have done the same thing…if we had lights! At least you had the rest of the Christmas decor put away…give yourself a little credit!
Thanks for stopping by my blog for Tackle it Tuesday!
